There you have it.
Our day in the desert. Mason left
out the part about us searching for and finding our first geocache, which
surprises me because he really enjoyed it.
He begged to find another, and we tried with no success. For those of you who aren’t familiar with
geocaching, the website say:
“Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played
throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic
idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share
your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people from all age groups,
with a strong sense of community and support for the environment.”
Don’t have a GPS?
Don’t worry. There is a similar
activity for people without a GPS called letterboxing. Letterboxing uses written clues or maps
to guide the hunters to the hidden treasure.
Try it. It’s a great excuse to
get outdoors and do something fun!
Thank you so much to our sweet relatives for driving all the
way over to where we were to take us on our “desert tour” (especially Greg who
had just had his wisdom teeth removed).
It was a wonderful outing. Thank
you also for the t-shirts to go in our quilts and the
books for the boys (I forgot to get you to sign the t-shirts!). We’ll send you pictures of the finished
quilt.
