Hiking the Flatirons in Boulder PDF Print E-mail
flatiron.gif Once the kids had their fill of Berlioz we made our way to the trailhead.   We took the shorter trail, since one of our hikers was 2 years old, but it was pretty steep.  We hiked and searched for elusive things, like yellow flowers and white butterflies, red berries and moss.  We stopped and snacked and discussed what the Flatirons reminded us of – someone saw a face, someone saw a pair of glasses carved onto the face.  I like hiking with little ones…going slow, looking at every little thing, no matter how insignificant, celebrating small accomplishments.  When we reached the end of the trail the symphony was heralding our return with Stravinsky.  It just doesn’t get much better than that.
