We traveled here in July, July 1 is Canada Day (our July 4th)...each friday (and I think saturday) night their are fireworks over the falls. We stayed in a hotel overlooking the falls on the Canadian side and rode the Maid of the Mist...worth it...what I would have enjoyed but missed was the whirlpool which has a nature hike around it I've been told. Also theire is a power plant that captures energy from the falls ...more energy than the Nuclear plant my husband works for...we did not get to tour this. Extremely expensive here...over $100 for a hamburger meal for 6. And of course the Canadian dollar hit an all time high while we were there. Lost in the Barrens is a good book about Canada. I also read Michner's book Journey about the gold..not too long a read for him...good read aloud. If you head into Canada you will probably need Passports by March, we only needed drivers license and birth certificates for the kids.

Becky,
We are looking forward to Niagara. My youngest son will have his birthday there. Plan to do the Maid of the Mist and I'm working on getting passports now, just in case. Sounds like you've done your share of traveling! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experiences.
