Amy,
Thank you for the hiking tip...we LOVE to hike and that sounds perfect since I live with the "Three Billy Goats Gruff!"

I don't know what route you're taking to DC, but if you're near Charlottesville, Montpelier (James Madison's home) is fascinating. http://www.montpelier.org/ We toured it in November & learned so much. Say "Hi" to Virginia for us...we sure do miss those mountains.

Good idea! Our route to DC put Charlottesville a little out of the way and we were considering by-passing Monticello, but Monticello and Montpelier? I bet I can sell Daddy on that! Thanks for the suggestion and the link!

Hey gang-

We read your posts religiously but really never have anything to add...you know since we are grounded folks. However, Jenn DON'T miss Monticello. You know I traveled alot with my parents growing up and one of my fondest memories to this day is that place(and you of all people know my memory so it must have been pretty cool). I remember it as a cool place with alot of inventions and being that you have boys it might be right up there alley.

Have fun-

The Studstill "Herd"

p.s. We are following you on a map so keep the posts coming.

Hey girl!
If you remember Monticello it must be incredible Thanks for chiming in. It's good to "hear" a familiar voice. We'll let you know if you can put a push pin in Charlottesville. Odds are you will.

Not sure what direction your route takes, but I would highly recommend Gettysburg, PA for a good history lesson on the trip. We have a new visitors' center that will run you through various tours (I am a Cubmaster for our local Pack and take the kids to a different tour in Gettysburg each year).

Good luck with the trip!
