A friend of ours gave me a GPS for Christmas a year and a half ago. I thought "I'll never need this". Boy, was I wrong!! Not only do I use it around our small town just for the fun of it, I definitely take it on trips with us! It has saved me from getting lost many, many times. And I love that I can program local addresses in it, and I will know what time I should arrive. This feature alone made me rethink the time it took me to go to town. I always thought it was 20 minutes, and wondered why I was always late, so now we always leave (theoretically) 30 minutes ahead. With that aside, it has been one gadget that I really LOVE!!!

We bought a GPS right before we left, and as much as I hate to admit it, we often depend on it. We call her Velma, and to me she is "the other woman". She and I never seem to agree on the most logical route and Dan always favors her Still, it's a great way for us to check for low clearances along our route and I too love the fact that I know what time we'll be arriving. So I have to agree...fulltimers NEED a GPS.
